RÙN (Scottish Gaelic) meaning inclination, design & purpose.

The name connects with what we do and links us to where we come from.

RÙN Architecture is a Sydney-based architecture and interior design practice founded by Martin and Kirstin Tarnawski.

The practice works across bespoke residential architecture and interiors, creating places that are thoughtful, enduring and deeply connected to the way people live. Each project is shaped through a careful reading of its site, climate and context, with an emphasis on simplicity, material integrity and finely resolved detail.

RÙN was established following Martin and Kirstin's experience at leading architecture and interior design studios in Australia and Scotland, including CHROFI Architects, Smart Design Studio and Decus Interiors. This diverse background informs a collaborative design process in which architecture and interiors are conceived as a single, cohesive whole.

The studio believes that enduring architecture emerges through curiosity, restraint and close collaboration with clients, consultants and craftspeople. Rather than pursuing a predetermined aesthetic, each project evolves from its unique circumstances to create places that are generous, intuitive and quietly expressive.

Our approach is to create considered timeless architecture for our clients and the built world.
